  Abstract :

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency virus) is indeed a retrovirus. Being a causative agent, it weakens the immunity that can leads to AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). The aim of the study is to evaluate the level of inflammatory markers (IL-6 and IL-4) in HIV+ patients. It was an observational case control study, carried out in Department of Biochemistry and Department of General Medicine (ART Unit), Sardar Patel Medical College, Bikaner and Rajasthan. Total 50 HIV+ patients and 50 healthy controls were taken. In this study, analysis of serum interleukins (IL-6 and IL-4) was done.
